Tknika will have an advanced gastronomy area on Zorrotzaurre island

25/01/2020

Tknika, the Center for Research and Applied Innovation of Vocational Training that the Basque Government will build on Zorrotzaurre island, will incorporate an advanced gastronomy line and another one dedicated to aeronautics that will cover needs that different centers and companies have in Bizkaia. This was advanced by the Deputy Minister for Vocational Training, Jorge Arévalo, who is confident that “soon” works could start in the old archive of the Bilbao Bank, built in 1954 and designed by the architect Ricardo Bastida, now reserved to house Tknika in.

Arévalo does not venture to date the opening of the center, although he confirms that Tknika remains among the priorities of his Deputy-Ministry. “I think it won’t take long. All I can say is that we really want Tknika to be a reality in Zorrotzaurre and that the Bilbao City Council is very interested in having us installed in the island of talent together with other private projects such as Digipen, Kunsthal, Mondragon University or University of Navarra. The construction project is still in its early steps.”
