Visesa sells Kutxabank the plot initially reserved for its new headquarters

Last Friday, the Basque Government-owned company, Visesa, formalised the sale of a 4,000m2 plot on the south end of Zorrotzaurre. The plot, which the financial institution paid 20.8 million euros for, is located next to the Euskalduna bridge opposite the IMQ Zorrotzaurre clinic.

The initial idea of the bank was to build an office tower to hold its headquarters. To this end, the bank contracted Zaha Hadid (author of the Zorrotzaurre masterplan, who died this year, 2016).

Zaha Hadid’s design was for 22 floors and a height of 105 metres, 25,000m2 of above-ground floor space and 8,000m2 below-ground floor space along with a separate block to hold the hall and certain client services.
