Juan Carlos Sinde replaces Pablo Otaola as head of the Zorrotzaurre Management Commission

19/11/2018

The Assembly of the Zorrotzaurre Management Commission has accepted the resignation tendered by its executive manager, Pablo Otaola, and has appointed Juan Carlos Sinde, hitherto the architect on the Management Commission, as his replacement. This change will become effective on 1 January 2019.

Pablo Otaola Ubieta, a civil engineer, who has been running the Management Commission since 2004, has concluded his executive term in which Zorrotzaurre has become an island and urbanisation and building works on the first housing developments have begun, whereby Zorrotzaurre is an unstoppable reality.

Juan Carlos Sinde Echebarria (Bilbao, 1959) is an architect who graduated at the Navarre Higher Technical School of Architecture. Highlights in his career to date include his role in Bilbao Ría 2000 (1993-2001), where he was responsible for the Ametzola and Abandoibarra actions; in the Bilbao Exhibition Centre (BEC) (2001-2006), as the person in charge of its construction; and on the Zorrotzaurre Management Committee (2006 to date), managing planning, projects and works on Zorrotzaurre. He had previously worked in the Basque Government and Santurtzi Town Hall.
